We’re a friendly and fun group that loves to make music together in a welcoming and supportive environment. Here, you’ll develop your ensemble skills while exploring a diverse repertoire — from folk and film to classical and contemporary. Our rehearsals are filled with engaging activities, games, and ensemble development, helping us grow together as a team. We also enjoy unique performance experiences, playing in exciting venues across the city. We’ve even been known to perform from memory!
By the time you leave Youth Strings, you’ll be brimming with confidence and ready to tackle new challenges in your playing.

What to expect at your first rehearsal
If you think it might help, please share the Young Person’s Rehearsal Timeline with your young musician. This will give them an idea of what to expect when they arrive, the rehearsal and what to do at the end. Hopefully it will help calm some nerves :)
Fees: Membership for our groups is TOTALLY FREE if you are in receipt of free school meals or fit our bursary criteria. We don’t want cost to be an issue, the friends of Sheffield Music Hub support with bursaries, please email musichubprojects@sheffield.gov.uk if you need help with the cost of fees, whatever your circumstances.
