WINNER of Instrumental Teacher of the year!

We are delighted to share with you that Sheffield is now officially the home of the best music educators in the land!

Yesterday one of our Samba Teachers, Dan Johnston, won Instrumental teacher of the year award at the Music and Drama awards in London.

He was recognised for his commitment to inclusion and excellence.

At the end of last term we asked you for Go Fund Me donations to get Dan to London for the awards ceremony. We are delighted to say we surpassed our target within 4 days! As we have exceeded our target, extra funds are now going towards purchasing extra musical equipment for the Samba Bands.

We’re very proud of Dan and all our samba students and this is a real accolade for the Hub and our City. 

If your child would like to join one of our fantastic Samba band's which includes Sheffield Youth Samba Band, Pad Sessions and Sheffield Junior Samba Band - the groups rehearse every Wednesday evening (term time only) at our new home at Red Tape Studios. Application form can be found here
