If your child would like to join one of our fantastic Samba band's which includes Sheffield Youth Samba Band, Pad Sessions and Sheffield Junior Samba Band - the groups rehearse every Wednesday evening (term time only) at our new home at Red Tape Studios. Application form can be found here
Our Samba Music teacher, Dan Johnson has also been shortlisted for the instrumental / vocal tutor of the year at the Music and Drama Education Awards 2023 on 23 February.
At the end of last term we asked you for Go Fund Me donations to get Dan to London for the awards ceremony. We are delighted to say we have surpassed our target WITHIN 4 DAYS! As we have exceeded our target extra funds will now go to purchasing extra musical equipment for Pad Sessions, Sheffield Youth Samba Band and Sheffield Junior Samba Band. Numbers in these groups are now so high we've run out of instruments!
We're so proud of Dan. He was nominated due to his commitment to musical inclusion, developing the amazing Sheffield Youth Samba Bands and working tirelessly to break down musical, social and cultural barriers. He inspires his pupils, their families, our schools and his colleagues at every turn.
