Samba Bands @Sheffield 10k

On Sunday 28th September, the Sheffield Junior and Youth Samba Bands will be performing along the route of the Jane Tomlinson’s Run for All, Sheffield 10K, helping to cheer on runners and bring some energy to the event.

They are also supporting some pretty special runners… because among those taking part are staff, parents, and friends of Sheffield Music Hub, who are running to raise money for the Hub’s bursary programme. This fund helps children and young people from low-income families access music lessons, hire instruments, and join music groups.

The bursary supports families receiving Free School Meals, Universal Credit, Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, Working Tax Credit, or those with looked-after children. With costs reaching £7,000 a year, and with funding running low, the Hub is working hard to make sure no child misses out on the chance to learn music.
