Suzanne Hobbs (Strings)

Suzanne has lived and worked in Sheffield for many years. She gained a music degree from the University of Sheffield, playing cello in the university symphony orchestra and chamber orchestra as well as playing in small group ensembles.

After graduating, Suzanne studied for a PGCE at Sheffield Hallam University. She then taught as a primary school teacher for several years, during which some of this time was working as music co-ordinator. This involved teaching curriculum music lessons and teaching extra-curricular groups such as recorder groups. She also led a choir and co-ordinated the music for school performances, such as summer productions and Christmas concerts.

Suzanne took up a peripatetic cello teacher post in 2009 with Sheffield Music Service and worked in this role for six years before taking up a Music Leader post in 2014. She continues to enjoy teaching class violin lessons and specialist cello lessons and loves seeing children enjoying their music too.
