Voice for Youth – Help Shape the Future of Music in Sheffield
- Date: Thursday 10th July
- Time: 6:00–8:00 PM
- Location: The Foundry Studios, 3 Brown St, Sheffield S1 2BS
- For ages: 14–18
Young people of Sheffield, we want you to have a say in music education and musical opportunities for young people in your city. Open to anyone aged 14 to 18, Voice for Youth is a space for young people to share their views on music education and the opportunities available to them in Sheffield.
Voice for Youth is your chance to:
- Meet like-minded musicians
- Be heard by those who can make a difference
- Help shape the future of music education in Sheffield
- And also — there’s free food
At the last Voice for Youth event in February, attendees explored topics such as:
- How the Music Hub can support pathways into the music industry
- Design plans for the new Harmony Works building
- Ideas for new music groups
- The Sheffield Music Hub rebrand
Feedback from that session directly led to the launch of a new mentoring scheme, a work experience programme, and opportunities for new music groups.
This July’s event is being co-led by two young people, Alex and Samuella, with support from Inclusion Lead Heather Burge, and Projects Team Member Rory Evans. The event is designed by young people, for young people, and focuses on the issues that matter most to them.
Young people are encouraged to bring a friend, but each attendee must complete the sign-up form.
