Primary Music network Meeting - Connecting Teachers across the city
Last week Primary School Teachers from across the city joined us for our Primary Music Network Meeting.
The session began with Emma Ward, our music leader and vocal health specialist, who delivered an insightful workshop on Vocal Health for Teachers and Students. Emma shared practical strategies to help teachers protect their voices and promote healthy vocal habits in the classroom.
Our primary music lead, Becky Stroud, led a session sharing practical ideas for festive music-making. These activities are "lifesavers" for the busy run-up to Christmas. Becky also provided a resource bank packed with activities that can be used straight away in lessons.
Gillian Hume, Music Hub Manager shared, "Our Primary Music Network Meeting provides a dedicated space for Music Leads to meet and discuss everything relating to music education in primary schools. We share with them our knowledge of national and local updates in Music Education. It’s a chance for Music Leads, some of whom are not musical experts, to acquire some ‘musical bangers’ -tried and tested musical games and activities that we know their pupils will love. It also allows us to find out what Music Leads want help and support with to inform our planning of future sessions and for them to share any exciting musical projects they have successfully organised. We create a supportive community where Music Leads feel they belong."
