Two of our young musicians win at the Sheffield Youth Awards 2025
Two of our Young Musicians jointly received the Individual Award for Creative Arts at The Sheffield Youth Awards 2025!
We are committed to partnership working and aiming high for young people, no matter their background or lived experience. Both our winners exemplify this, so just to share some love for the brilliant young people:
Sebastian– a dedicated young musician who attends All Saints School, learns to play the Double Bass as part of our Connect Programme – an innovative fully funded bursary programme and partnership with Young Sounds UK. Together we work collaboratively and strategically to smash down barriers to musical learning. Seb is quite simply a legend – he is so talented, works hard, takes part in EVERYTHING we do, volunteers and supports his peers. He wants to study music at conservatoire. All of this began when he learnt the violin in his class in year 4 at Emmaus Primary School.
Kiana (Niko) – another dedicated musician and cellist who learnt the cello throughout school from our Music Leader Celia Hurwitz-keefe at Tapton School before gaining a place at the acclaimed National Orchestras for All where they are now a dedicated member of their youth panel and making influential changes to that organisation. Kiana, despite many challenges has just started studying at University - it's amazing where music can take you.
Our partnership with Orchestras for All runs deep, has existed for over a decade and is so powerful that they have chosen to make Sheffield their home after relocating from London as an Arts Council England funded National Portfolio Organisation. We'll be co-locating in our exciting new home Harmony Works
