Sheffield Region Brass Network
The Sheffield Region Brass Network is a not-for-profit organisation originally established in 2013 by Rachel Veitch-Straw, David Morris and Stuart Young to increase the profile and visibility of brass bands in the Sheffield City Region UK through Information, Education and Advocacy by facilitating regular networking meetings and providing relevant online support where available.
The Sheffield Brass Network provides news and information about the 10 brass bands in Sheffield, they are:
- Woodhouse
- Stannington
- Loxley
- Deepcar
- Sheffield 13
- Unite The Union
- Oughtibridge
- Chapeltown
- Dronfield
- Escafeld
Six of the above bands compete regularly in local and national contests and represent every level of competitive banding in the country. The others are non-competing or “community” bands. Many bands also have training or B bands.
So regardless of your standard and your like or dislike of competing, there’s a band for you!
