David Ross (Strings)
David began playing the violin at the age of 8, studying the Suzuki method in London and attending the Centre for Young Musicians, before moving north and graduating from The University of Sheffield with a degree in music in 2011.
He has been lucky enough to perform a wide range of music at home and abroad, including tours to Japan, Turkey, numerous European destinations and across some of the UK’s finest concert halls. An experienced conductor, he has conducted repertoire ranging from music for film to an electric prom, as well as many of the great symphonic works, and takes great pleasure in working with young ensembles who are discovering the joy of a piece for the very first time.
David is passionate about music education, which he believes is a fundamental human right, and has had the privilege of collaborating with countless inspiring children and colleagues on projects with Sheffield Music Hub, Derbyshire Music Partnership and Opera North.
