Judith Ennis - Music Hub Manager

Judith Ennis came into teaching in her late twenties after a short career as a professional flautist. Judith previously worked as Faculty Lead for Creative Arts at Bents Green Special School before becoming Hub Manager in September 2015.

Judith’s work at Bents Green earned her a national reputation, with ensembles of musicians performing at the National Festival of Music for Youth for 12 consecutive years, winning numerous awards and prizes for innovation and outstanding performance.  Ensembles went on to perform at MFY School’s Proms concerts in the Royal Albert Hall an incredible four times and she was honoured to be awarded The Classic FM Music Teacher of the Year Award in 2010.  Judith regularly lectures at Sheffield and Hallam Universities and leads creative music workshops for trainee teachers on the PGCE Primary course.

She enjoys cycling and walking in the Peaks, cooking, travelling with her family and visiting the Lyceum and Crucible Theatres in Sheffield. She plays flute in the Hallam Sinfonia and has been a Trustee of Music in the Round since 2015.
