Music Hub Update – Wednesday 2nd September 2020

As the new term starts and pupils return to school please see below how we are supporting schools to re-instate music provision in schools.

SPECIALIST INSTRUMENTAL AND VOCAL LESSONS 1-1

We are planning to reinstate this provision from the week commencing September 21st.

Whilst this is a little later than we had hoped this is to ensure that we re-introduce provision in a manner that does not overwhelm schools in the first few weeks back. This is in line with guidance from Sheffield City Council to limit the number of external visitors to schools in the first few weeks – we are working hard to ensure we have the appropriate permissions in place to return by 21st September. We are planning with over 150 schools in the city and each will have a slightly different approach so thank you in advance for your patience whilst we ensure we get this right for all our stakeholders and the city.

As all pupils are now back in school we are not able to deliver online lessons during the school day.

Your Music Leader will be in touch to set work for your child and signpost to additional learning opportunities in the interim. Please be assured that we still expect to be able to deliver all lessons billed for this term – in the unlikely event that this should not happen we will adapt future payments accordingly. Should the situation change with regards to returning our team into schools we will keep you informed of the changes.

MUSIC GROUPS

These begin online week commencing 14th September – new members are welcome and the first session is free. Please click HERE for more details

We plan to run all Music Groups online this term in the evenings and there are no concerts planned for this term. We do hope to re-introduce additional face to face groups later in the term IN ADDITION to the ongoing online groups. Keep an eye out for announcements here.

SCHOOLS

We have a detailed, adapted plan for whole class, pathways and singing packages that we can deliver either remotely into your classroom or face to face subject to appropriate approvals.
