Music Hub Update - 16 April 2020

Published on 16/04/2020

We're back!

The new term has begun here at Sheffield Music Hub and it's a term unlike any we could ever have imagined.

This week we are proud to have launched around 900 online music lessons. We have commissioned the amazing Kaleidescope Orchestra to write us some tracks for the young musicians of the City to perform from home and our Music Groups are back up and running with some innovative programmes to promote making music together whilst at home.

At the same time we have been busy preparing work packs for families who have no or limited access to the internet at home and young musicians all over the city have been sharing music making in their gardens at 4pm as part of our#gardengigs Keep an eye out for the musical challenges on our website that ALL young musicians in Sheffield can join in with, whether they subscribe to our offer or not.

For those who have subscribed to our service for this term you should have had an email from the Operations Team and directly from your Music Leader. If you have not heard anything we apologise - please contact us on with the name and school of your child so we can update your details on our database and ensure that we get your child going with online learning as soon as possible.

Our offices and stockroom remain closed and we have no access to our phone lines or Sheffield City Council emails so do please contact us using the following email account (Huge thanks to our friends at red tape studios for hosting these email accounts for us!)

With all best wishes

Ian Naylor - Head of Music Education Sheffield
