Music Coordinator (with Teaching Responsibilities)

24 Hours/3 days per week, 42 weeks per year
FTE Salary: £28,320 - £35,557 (with Qualified Teacher Status)
Actual Salary: £16,009 - £21,000 (with Qualified Teacher Status)


A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Music Coordinator with Teaching Responsibilities at
Brantwood Specialist School, to work with students with learning disabilities and complex needs.

They would be interested to speak with candidates who will be able:


• To plan and deliver music sessions to individuals or small groups of students according to their
individual needs and learning requirements. A bespoke RMT music curriculum is available as a
guide.
• To encourage students with the right aptitude to prepare and perform pieces of music, whether
solo or as a group, at festivals and school or Trust performances.
• To be part of an ongoing assessment of students’ learning needs and to make reasonable
adjustments as required, minimising barriers to learning and achievement.
• Work creatively with different musical styles and acoustic, unplugged instruments to meet the
varied needs of our students.
• Positively role model behaviours and attitudes.
• Support students on their life journey by developing good rapport and giving appropriate
challenges that build their self-confidence to participate in the cultural life of the community.
• To work alongside and to support teachers and teaching assistants to deliver music in the
classroom.
• Lead CPD to develop staff confidence and skill in singing and teaching music fundamentals.
