Make Music Week – 10 hours of music in 1 week!

Published on 14/01/2018

We are asking children to take part in 10 hours of music making over 7 days (13/1/18-19/1/18) and help raise funds for our Musical Stars Scheme.

We have asked schools to support their students who are taking on the challenge by helping to log hours with activities such as singing assemblies, choir, orchestra and music lessons to create a possible 4 hours that the children can add to their record. It is then over to the students to find the remaining 6 hours to complete their week!

Practice!

Independent or group practice of the instrument or voice. Bring your child to one of our open rehearsals.

Listen!

Try something new, encourage them to listen to some jazz, rock, folk or classical!

Watch!

A symphony of Sorrowful Songs at Sheffield Cathedral - rehearsal at 4pm and concert at 7pm on Saturday 13th January

The Halle Orchestra at Sheffield City Hall on Friday 19th January.

Discuss!

Talk to your child about their learning, what they like and what they don’t and how they would like to progress.

Please support the Musical Stars Scheme by speaking to your school about Make Music Week.

Please read the below documents to support your child with this activity or contact Laura Steelyard for further guidance or ideas.
