Former Student Mia to Perform Live in Jazz Quartet

Published on 18/06/2025

We’re pleased to share details of an upcoming performance by one of our former students, Mia, who has continued to pursue music at a high level.

After starting her musical journey at Sheffield Music Hub, Mia went on to study at Chetham’s School of Music, a leading institution for young musicians. She now leads her own band and will be performing at Glossop Labour Club on Saturday, 21st June.

Performers:

  • Mia – Tenor Saxophone
  • Xander Johnston – Double Bass
  • Ben Robinson – Drums
  • Theo Geileskey – Keyboards

Many of our students begin with whole-class instrumental lessons in primary school—whether it’s violin, flute, ukulele, cornet, or anything else—and go on to study at top music colleges across the UK, such Leeds Conservatoire, Royal College of Music, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and more.

We’re proud of the progress of our young musicians as they develop their musical studies and careers into adulthood.

Please note: This is not a Music Hub event and is not aimed at children or young people. We’re sharing this to highlight the achievements of a talented former student.
