Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus is launching their latest Young Composer Competition

Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus is launching their latest Young Composer Competition.

The winning composition will be officially premiered by the Chorus in April 2027, providing a fantastic platform for a young composer from South Yorkshire to hear their work brought to life by one of the foremost large choirs in the north of England.

We believe this is a highly valuable opportunity for young musicians, providing the chance to:

• Gain practical experience: by composing a 4-10 minute unaccompanied SATB choral piece for a large choir
• Build their portfolio: The winner will receive a recording of their work
• Win substantial cash prizes: £1,500, £1,000 and £500
• Gain exposure: Excellent publicity and recognition

The deadline for submissions is 08 January 2027.
