All 3 combined groups will perform separately before coming together as one massed ensemble with over 300 young musicians performing together for an unforgettable performance. Imagine the sound and energy of hundreds of young people performing together!
Concert Date: Sunday 19th April 2026
What can you help us with?
One of the strongest messages from Voice for Youth, a youth-led initiative that gives young people the chance to shape the future of music education in Sheffield, was that young people want to be more involved—not just on stage, but in planning and delivering events. In response to this, we’re offering the following event support roles at the Gala Concert:
- Lighting Opp Assistant - helping to operate the lighting board.
- Audio Visual Assistant - helping to managing audio/visual elements like microphones and cameras
- Technical Assistant – helping with general technical support.
- Stage Management Assistant – helping with ensuring the rehearsals and show runs smoothly.
- Assistant Host – helping to host the concert
- Comms/Social Media Assistant – helping to gather footage of the event, interviewing the performers etc
For anyone interested in a career in the music or creative industries, these roles offer a brilliant chance to gain real-world experience. They’ll also look great on a CV, provide valuable examples for job applications and interviews, and strengthen personal statements for university or conservatoire applications.
Please do encourage them to apply — it will be a fantastic experience!
